"Over 30 years" makes me sound so old, maybe I am but I still enjoy a good challenge!

My name is Dina Y, currently my hometown is Novato, CA having been born and raised in Monterey, CA. I resided in Honolulu, HI to finish raising my teenage children and returned to CA after my youngest left to college and my father passed away (I was caring for him and my mom in Hawaii).

Throughout my career, I've worked in many industries but started my "career" early being trained as a Bookkeeper since I was 16 years old. I found my interests have always been very strong in computers, programming (back in the olden days of Dbase) so having that basic knowledge of accounting, stocks, and taxes my experience has been verse.

I've worked in aviation, medical (surgery centers and surgeons practices), venture capitalists (tracked their investments and stock basis for start up investments, and overall personal accounting with years working at KPMG Mountain View and San Francisco offices), substance abuse facilities, escrow and title, nationwide service companies, and so much more. 

​

I thoroughly enjoy a challenge - I love audits and being audited so many of the industries I worked in I found myself auditing work of prior Controllers (their work and embezzlement cases). This lead more to the inaccuracies of the Information Systems of their accounting software - usually occurs when a company rolls-out another accounting software. The clashing of accounting and then programmers usually resorts to these inaccuracies. These types of audits has led me to do Medical Billing audits for Physicians/Surgeons.

With my accounting skills, I delved into Operations where I worked in companies as their CFO/COO. I *loved* these positions as I was able to roll out or level up businesses that were financially and operationally strained to meet current industry demands.

Although I run my own businesses (outside of accounting and both are self-sustaining), I take on one-time projects to keep my mind going. I don't rely on my accounting projects which makes my rates more affordable and reasonable.
